SPREADING GOODWILL THROUGH 12,000 ROSES
Celebrating Our 9 th Annual Good Neighbor Day on Wednesday,
September 7th
Chicago (August 31, 2005) Ashland
Addison Florist Company is thrilled to announce the distribution of 12,000 roses
around the Chicagoland area this Wednesday, September 7, 2005. However, the free
flowers come with a catch: people who accept a FREE bouquet of roses also accept
the responsibility to keep one rose for themselves and hand the others out to
neighbors, passers-by or to make new friends. The effort is a part of FTD florists’ Good
Neighbor Day holiday and Ashland Addison Florist Company joins thousands of florists
around the country to spread good feelings through roses.
“The message we are spreading is beyond taking time to smell the roses,” says
Bill Sheffield, president of Ashland Addison Florist. “The roses work as
a symbol to remind people of the great feelings you get from doing something
nice for someone – whether it be a stranger or your next door neighbor.”
Ashland Addison Florist Company
has been participating in the event for nine consecutive years, and Good Neighbor
Teams will be found handing out 12,000 beautiful roses around Chicagoland at
el stations, and on the Magnificent Mile. Plus, two of the florist’s four retail locations will be distributing rose bouquets
sporadically throughout the day including at the NEW location, O’Brien
The Florist at 43 Arlington Heights Road in Elk Grove Village, and the Ashland
Addison location in the Galter Pavilion at Northwestern Hospital at 201 East
Huron.
“What a perfect time for Good Neighbor Day this year. Hopefully, on
Wednesday, September 7 th, Ashland Addison Florist Company will help people in
our community spread a few smiles around Chicagoland,” says Sheffield.
